Determining a Coin's Value
Coin of lower grades than this have little value, as indeed those that are very worn or mounted items.
Rarity - by the year or quite simply the monarch not being on the throne very long such as Philip and Mary.
Thememtic Rarity - 1776 US Independence, 1805 Trafalgar, 1855 First Australian sovereigns.
Mint coins post 1880 are mostly valued at bullion value. However there are exceptions such as the $20 St Gaudens 1933 which fetched US$7 million in July 2002, the only one in private hands.
